If you watch “The Office,” you remember that moment at the very end of last season’s finale when Ryan (B.J. Novak) accepted a job at corporate and ended his relationship with Kelly (Mindy Kaling).

Debate raged online afterwards about whether Ryan really did get a promotion or the whole scene was merely a joke. Well, the official word has come down.
