A Little Help
In a couple of months, I have to the west coast travel for work. Sadly, it’s not Vegas.
This will require some fairly long plane rides. I need entertainment. I will have my iPod and some reading material, but I want to take this chance to explore a new television series on DVD. I figure I have about five hours each way in the air, plus dead time in my hotel room during my stay, so I can easily get through an 18-24 episode run of some show I have never seen before.
This is where you come in. I need suggestions. I already have my sights set on “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” because it seems funny, plus I could borrow my brother’s DVDs, which will save me cash. That’s always a selling point. But I am not married to the idea. So try and convince me to stick with that or to choose something different.
My criteria:
- Comedy. I watch way more comedies than dramas, but also want the shorter episodes so I don’t feel so tied down (yes, my attention span is about 22 minutes)
- Something I have never seen. For current shows, that wipes out The Office, How I Met Your Mother, 30 Rock and Big Bang Theory
- Good extras on the DVD. I can be a geek for something like that, especially if it lets me learn more about the series or the people involved. They also break up the monotony of watching show after show.
That’s about it. I’m pretty easy to please. I just want this trip to go well. Plus, I want people on the plane to wonder about the pudgy guy trying to stifle a laugh. Leave something in the comments if you have any ideas.
