I Want To Go To There
I have to give my friend Dave Lifton (via Liz Chang) the credit for this one. What a way to bring out my M*A*S*H obsession. Growing up, my family watched the show religiously. Even before you could find reruns on dozens of channels, we could catch four or five episodes some days because of syndication. And we did.
We also recorded every single one. My late mother loved the show and wanted to keep them since we got in on the VCR craze early. I have all the tapes in my basement – we may be missing one show – and wouldn’t trade them for the DVD box set even if someone asked. They mean something special even though I can’t remember the last time I threw one of the tapes in our old VCR. I will still watch on TV, but the tapes remind me of the great times we had sitting around the TV or throwing quotes from Hawkeye and Trapper around at the dinner table.
But that’s as far as our obsession went. The person who owns the backyard in the pictures below deserves special mention for their dedication. This is from 2008, but they replicated the M*A*S*H set in their backyard. What a wonderful sight.
