Book Review: Where the Hell Am I?
Off and on for the past few years, I have enjoyed Ken Levine’s fantastic blog. The former “Cheers” and “Frasier” writer brings wonderful insight, hilarious stories and cleverness to the Interwebs. I could never keep up with his stuff though, bad blog reader as I am.
So I jumped at the chance to add him to my Twitter feed. And when he mentioned he had written a book, I had to jump on that, particularly since it was only $3 for the Kindle and he said he’d send a refund if you didn’t like it.
I don’t think Ken will be sending money to many people. The book – a collection of travel stories which began as e-mails to friends – has put together a hilarious take on many different parts of America which I breezed right through. The easy style of his writing along with the rich subject matter made the time just fly by.
I really can’t recommend this enough, especially for Kindle readers. For a few bucks, you can sift through the sharp and sometimes disturbed observations of a guy who has written for some of the best TV shows in the business. Whether he’s visiting his kid, helping another TV project or handling his duties as a baseball announcer, Levine manages to find all the humor in his time at a La Quinta Suites.
