A Year Without Breakfast
Today was the first day of school. To make sure Bridget got started on the right foot, Maria made pancakes for all of us. They were delicious.
As she was clearing something off the table, I told her I would expect this kind of service every day. She just laughed. I told her that my Mom made breakfast for my Dad every day so she could honor their memory by doing the same for me. She laughed some more.
As I got ready to head out the door for work, I thanked her again for breakfast and she told me I only had to wait 364 days for her to make it for me again. She’s a real comedian.
