Free Improv Workshop

Everyone should get the chance to learn how improv can provide positive benefits to life whether you want to improve your communication skills, chart a path to performing or just have fun.

I have taught in retirement communities, middle and high schools and in corporate training sessions.

Your two-hour session will include games and exercises designed to help adults re-discover the joy of play. We will create a safe and supportive environment to be silly. Leave your problems at the door and laugh while creating memories with your friends. You might even learn something in the process!

A smiling man with salt and peper hair wearing a blue Henley shirtBrian Shea creates and explains things with words and pictures. These skills manifest themselves in many different ways, but his favorite moments take place in front of an audience or teaching a class. Brian never performed on stage until 2009 when he filled a small part in Miracle on 34th Street at Hanover High School. That experience turned him into a theater guy at the age of 41. Brian began performing and volunteering at Hanover Little Theatre in 2010, eventually serving seven years on the Board of Directors, including three as president. He took his first improv class in 2015 and hasn’t looked back since. He has performed and taught in both Pennsylvania and Maryland. In 2020, Brian founded Highwire Improv with three friends to create new opportunities for performers and teachers. He is always open to teaching anyone about the power of improv both as a performing art and as a tool to grow confidence and build communication skills.
